Birth of a Son

We are announcing the Birth of our second Baby, Joseph Dwight Emmot. He was born on November 19th at 2:27am. He weighed 7 pounds 7 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches in length. He is absolutely perfect - adorable... another perfect gift sent down straight from the hands of God.

Joseph (Joey) was given his Blessing by his amazing father, Joshua David Emmot, who was able to be home on mid-tour leave and emergency leave (combined)for the birth of his son. It was beautiful. I made his Christening Gown and it turned out gorgeous. Joshua teases that he had a hard time figuring out where the baby ended and the gown began... it was very long - definitely traditional...

Joey's sister, Dana, is still currently getting to know and accept her brother into the family. We still have some distinct jealousy issues but they will dissipate in time...

Joshua had to leave to go back to deployment. And as a result we are sad. However, we are joyful as we count down the final weeks til they come home again "for good." It is not long now... We can do this! "through Christ all things are possible."

Well, until next time, Happy belated Thanksgiving and have a Blessed Christmas Season...

Amnio from the Mother's Perspective

Allow me to say that prior to actually going in for the Amnio with the hopes of being induced that same day - I had heard some interesting painful stories from others who had gone through it. So I was naturally very apprehensive. The doc asked me if I wanted to know what was going to happen and I prompty insisted that I would rather NOT know. Just to do the procedure the way they normally do it.

The first time they stuck me failed. However that was the most painful of them all. The pain was bearable but it is needless to say I would not volunteer to randomly get an amnio in the future. Every sob or sudden breath caused the needle to go in a little deeper than they meant it to, causing more discomfort than necessary. The second time they stuck me was like magic. It barely hurt at all. I was breathing easier and steadier (I guess knowing what to expect). As much as I was originally against having the Amnio done in the first place, it wound up being the best decision.

Baby Joey's lungs were not developed yet. They were looking for a score of 55+ and he only got 29. So the doctors decided to postpone the induction to 39 weeks (November 18th). I am still hoping to go into labor on my own before then if at all possible.

The Amnio is not comfortable by any means - but it is a wise decision to get it done. The risks of the baby not being ready completely outweigh any other possible complication. Getting the Amnio - definitely saved my baby from a possibly tragic ending birth.

Still Waiting On Baby Joey!!!

To Baby Joey in possession of below described premises:

I am issuing a 5 day notice for EVICTION. You will have 5 days in which you can either gather your belongings and promptly vacate the premises, or wait until the final day. After which, you will be physically removed from the property.
You are being evicted due to breech of contract and destruction of property. Expansions only to the FRONT of the house, within reasonable limits, were discussed. Not only have these limits been exceeded, but additions to the back of the house were also made!
Remodeling and gutting of the home was never approved, nor was changing the initial layout and base structure. And due to property damage, there are now leaks in both the upper AND lower levels of the home. On top of which, the landlord has received numerous complaints about nightly disturbances.
After 5 days from this day that you don't comply with the notice will result in immediate and forceful removal at my discretion.

Respectfully,
Your Landlords (aka Mommy and Daddy)

Induction Date is Scheduled for Wednesday, November 18th, 2009...
